Project Overview: 57,000 SF New Construction
Performing arts, visual arts, science, and music programs form the core curriculum of this facility and are the focus of the design intent. The use of open beam ceilings and stain concrete flooring reduce finish material costs. Acoustic clouds and wall panels are applied throughout to control noise in large gathering spaces. A combination of dance and art studios, theatres, and science labs provide and encourage individual student exploration as well as teacher facilitated learning. The observation cat walk that meanders through the school is a unique solution to the facilities open concept. Indoor-outdoor connections with large spans of south facing glass are important to the natural day lighting of the facility. Students are encouraged to interact with one another as well as balance their individual focus and creativity while in this unique setting.
