FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

religious commercial interior design

Project Overview: 60,000 SF Renovation

The owner requested the buildings traffic flow be analyzed and reorganized to make provisions for elderly, that there be a sense of continuity from one building to another, and that finish materials be coordinated and to eliminate functional limitations. The remodel accommodated additional education classrooms, a bride’s room, nurseries, administration offices, a board room, music rooms, a reception hall, library, and commons area. The auxiliary areas of the church were designed to maintain a universal thread throughout the variety of spaces ranging from traditional, to transitional styles and various thematic areas. Creative adaptations to architectural elements, such as exposed structural columns in the babies’ nursery were disguised as a carousel. Over a six year period this renovation was completed successfully with the congregation doubling in size.
