Government Offices
Schriever Air Force Base B80 – This project encompassed the renovation and new construction of a large office space and associated security lobby from an existing fitness facility and large open warehouse. 12,800 S.F. of space was renovated to maximize occupancy and efficiency in a large open office area with adjacent computer labs, private offices and conference rooms. The major design challenge was to create a feeling of lightness and openness in a windowless basement environment. Large ceiling coffers and floating cloud designs were used in the ceiling in order to promote feelings of the outdoors. Separate from the large office space, an individual security lobby was designed and constructed while maintaining high interior design standards while working within the constraint of base security requirements.
Overall the space maximized occupancy and efficiency while creating feelings of lightness and the outdoors while constrained to an interior space.
JSA's role included architectural project management, space planning, generation of construction and millwork documents, finish selections, coordination with base mechanical and electrical engineering staff, and construction administration.
The total project encompassed 12,800 renovated S.F.
