Project Overview: 6,000 SF Renovation
Originally a late 19th century church with a voluminous sanctuary and choir loft, it went through a renovation in the 1980’s to become a theatre. In 2003, the theatre was redesigned into a visually exciting, ultra-modern office environment while paying homage to the original architecture. Historically valued stained glass windows in the sanctuary and choir loft were restored and featured. Occupied by a progressive newspaper, the art department was integrated into the original choir loft. The sanctuary floor was used for open offices for editorial, news, advertising, and administration departments. All interior materials were selected for visual and acoustical control. Work surfaces and shelving units were built directly onto the walls. The design solution created office space with open communication for an owner whose business is communication
